My family is so fucked up

Yay I got my haircut!

The random reddishness along my hairline is where the hair dye stained my skin. It'll wash out in the shower.

My mother is extremely displeased with the haircut. She says it makes my features too sharp. Something or rather about how I need to soften them. Because I don't look feminine enough. This is the morning after she out of the blue told me that I didn't act feminine enough and men would never like me because they want traditional feminine women. I act "too tomboyish". Despite my seething rage at her comments, I was very proud of myself for gracefully excusing myself. Of course then she had to follow me into my room and start comparing me to Clara. (I'm sorry Clara, I don't know how you got dragged into it, but you did) At which point I pointedly asked her to leave and she spent the rest of the evening being Offended when really I was the one who had every reason to be pissed the fuck off.

Steph says there's something of Dean Winchester in me now, but I'm inclined to disbelieve. Hahaha, Dean looks like a chick.

Edit: OH NO MY ICON DOESN'T LOOK LIKE ME ANYMORE. And I can't cosplay Matt. Sadness.

Well, I like it. :)

And truth be told, I do see a bit of Dean in there.

Your mother is very, um, traditional. 21st century, woman!

I want a haircut, but at the same time I'm a fan of my hair right now. Hm. I need something new. Perhaps I should dye or highlight it.

Thanks. :D I can't stop peering in random reflective surfaces and grinning. That's not vain of me or anything. >> The Dean comparison made me love it 50 times more.

Worst comes to worst, you don't like your haircut and it grows out in a month or two. Though highlights are an awesome way to make your hair feel fresh. You thinking you'd go for a natural color or something more funky?

[identity profile] xturncoatxiii.livejournal.com 2009-11-22 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
I was doing that on the bus the other day. And I hadn't even had a haircut. Then I texted Sila saying "You know, I just realized... I'm kinda hot." So uh. You're not vain, I am.

mm Dean

Well it's just weird because I normally like having shorter hair. But my hair right now is appropriately unisex, but much longer than usual. And definitely something out there. Blue or green or purple or bleached. But I have that Asian hair that's really dark and doesn't bleach blond. I was thinking I would maybe fade from my normal colour to that orange-y bleached Asian look on my bangs. But I don't know. I have to bleach regardless. They do have really specific dyes for my hair colour/type, but it only really comes in reds and pinks.

It's perfectly normal to have a puffed up ego, right? Right?

Red isn't bad. I'm a fan of red.

I think that bleached look on Asian hair looks really good, I say go for it. Oh oh and then you should put funky colored highlights in it!
How long is it right now?

... I'm afraid my hair will make people think I'm a butch lesbian though, which I'm not sure I like. That's just not the image of myself I want to present. But I really like short hair. X_x

Just ask Iambic. His ego blocks out the sun sometimes.

Red's not bad, but I've already done red highlights and I want something totally new. Also I will take a picture and show you. Because my hair is ~*indescribable*~. Really, I just don't have words.

Yeah, I have that fear sometimes. But it helps to wear somewhat masculine metrosexual clothes. Or just baggy jeans and t-shirts and not flannel. I love flannel, but it's somehow become the fabric of butch lesbians

I feel it is only fair then that I get a Sam.

Totally awesome haircut. I like it.

:D Thanks

does your mother think that i'm traditionally feminine? that's actually one of the funnier things i've heard about myself XD you should tell her that i get paid to do construction work. but only if you tell me what her response is.

(i mean, what, I don't get way too gleeful when i get to nonplus people >.>)

[identity profile] usullusa.livejournal.com 2009-11-22 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
I would happily tell her, in fact I would have happily told her all the ways in which you kicked ass and flouted her effed up notions of femininity, but I was too angry and didn't have the energy to engage in a pointless conversation.

[identity profile] sythia.livejournal.com 2009-11-22 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Also, your default picture is now no longer accurate. >>

[identity profile] usullusa.livejournal.com 2009-11-22 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
I am aware. Woe.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2009-11-23 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Patty just pointed me to all of this (where did you get your hair done, btw, as it's time to cut mine again, and I never quite find someone I totally like for it), and all I can say is UGH. Sorry you're mom is being like that.

[identity profile] usullusa.livejournal.com 2009-11-26 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Best thing to do is to shrug it off I suppose.

I actually get it cut in Connecticut since that's here my family lives and I'm there often. I can give you the name of the place anyway if you want it.
