As soon as I am gainfully employed, (cross your fingers everyone) I'm getting a second pair of holes in my earlobes. I definitely want at least two piercings in each ear, but I'm not sure if I want 2 or 3 in my left ear. (And I'm thinking 5 in my right)

Wait, is there some meaning behind which ear is more pierced? I feel like I'm always missing out on all this Western pop culture stuff and then I look stupid. It comes from growing up in the Private School Bubble at school and in the Immigrant Family Bubble at home. I don't even watch television...

I would get my naval pierced, but a childhood surgery (I was six I believe) to fix my hernia gave me some fairly minor scarring and a prominent outie. The story, however, does not end there. My parents decided to get it "fixed" a couple years later. (I was asked if I wanted to, but I don't think an eight year old should be allowed to make choices about permanently modifying their body.) So after THAT my belly button just turned really horrid looking. Imagine somebody taking a scalpel to an outie belly button and trying to carve it into the appearance of an innie. Yea.
I think it might have turned out okay-looking if actual cosmetic surgeons had done it, but my hazy memories tell me my parents/the hospital actually had surgeons who normally do hernia operations do it so that they could lie and get the insurance company to cover it. In fact, I remember my mother telling me to lie about it. The degree to which it is appalling that my parents had surgeons perform a surgery on me that they were not qualified to perform is overwhelming. Whatever.
Point is, I don't want to draw attention to my mangled naval with a piercing.

That's really sucks. D: How long ago was it?
I commiserate about the not being able to handle being touched on your torso. If people touch my lower back I panic like woah. No matter how prepared I am for it. No discernible reason though, unlike you.

Elementary school is sort of crummy like that. Little kids are so amazingly vicious. More so than teenagers I think. And usually you're just not old enough to stand up to the pack.

Every one and their grandma has at least one ear pierced here. It's like some sort of NYU law. Must have facial piercing. Often accompanied by emo floppy hair.

I had one when I was really young (that when I got the cool one on my back) and I had another about four years ago, the August before I started high school. For the most part it's okay. I don't mind people looking at it or anything, but it makes stuff like massages, over-the-shoulder bookbags and relationships weird.

Yeah, it was not the best time of my life. Well at school anyway.

AM JUST PICTURING EMO-HAIRED, PIERCED GRANDMAS. it's vaguely hilarious.

Am extremely amused at relationships and over-the-shoulder bookbags being lumped into one category. Will endeavor to compare hypothetical future significant other to bookbag to their face.

There was pokemon when we were in elementary school. I find this to be the redeeming factor in that period of my life.

LOL. EMO-HAIRED GRANDMA MYSPACE PIC. Complete with eye-searing cleavage shirt. Have fun going to sleep with that image in your head. :D

Well they're all things that could potentially come in contact with my scar and upper-torso area. XD

THIS IS TRUE. except I was so anti-conformist that I refused to admit I liked Pokemon until it wasn't cool anymore. I ♥ Pokemon.

OH GOD THAT'S TRAUMATIC
