sythia! Steph, you've been there every step of the way since before I even consider myself to have been a person. Which is quite a feat since I'm intolerable. Thank you for having such a huge heart, for believing in me, for being absolutely brilliant (except for when you're not and make cheese-veggie goo but I love you even then), and generally being amazing. The part of my day when I get to talk to you is always the part I look forward to the most. And if it comes right down to it, you're the closest thing I've got to a muse. I wouldn't write or create or dream up anything if I didn't know I have you to share it with.
SO. Happy birthday and keep on rocking. I'll probably say all this to you in person in the evening when we have a moment alone. But it will probably be less eloquent.
P.S. Now you're also almost 20. YOU CAN'T MAKE FUN OF ME ANYMORE. So there. Now YOU get to feel boggled at that frightening number.

If I ever need reassurance that you're the most wonderful person I will ever meet I'll know to look here (or just search you out since each of our conversations seems to be an accumulation of years of laughs and shared fannish glee). And even though we're almost twenty now we've got so many more years together to swap tales and spend our nights talking instead of sleeping. So thanks for your kind wishes and dedication and support and just generally being the best friend I could ever ask for <3
