Character Meme

I'm really bored, so I asked
sythia to find me a character meme to complete. So she did because she's the greatest best friend I could ever ask for. Also she fetches me things, which is not a quality usually found in anybody besides one's mother, and that only one when one is sick.
First, select your ten fictional characters (from any medium) by whichever method you like best. Then answer the questions below. (These are all gonna be original characters)
1. Luka 2. Orion 3. Ryile 4. Tam 5. Garth 6. Eadres 7. Iarris 8. Dawn 9. Gabriel 10. Elieva
1. Gender-swap 2, 8 & 10. Which character would have the most change in their story arc? Which the least? Would any of these characters have to have a complete personality change to be believable as the opposite sex?
Orion would just not work. Period. He is entirely driven by testosterone and macho bullshit. Also, to generalize a bit, women tend to be less driven by the urge to fight just to prove a point. Oh yea, and I'm pretty sure his world is fairly sexist and he wouldn't have gotten to his position in the government had he been female.
Dawn would be essentially the same. ... no really. Holy shit, the more I think about this the more I realize absolutely nothing about him would change.
Elieva's power more or less comes from her subtle manipulation of her husband while using him a front. She would be quite different as a man simply because she wouldn't have to be half as clever or delightfully conniving.
... I'm sure she (he) would still be good at plotting evil things though.
2. Compare the matchups of 1 & 8 and 5 & 9. (Ignore canon sexual preferences for the moment.) Which couple would be more compatible? Which couple would be more plausible to people from either principal's home culture?
Luka and Dawn would be a horrible couple. They would try and out bitch, out manipulate, and out do each other at every possible turn. They're both incredibly arrogant, like to be in control, and don't take no for an answer. BAD matchup. Also Dawn is too batshit for Luka to enjoy him.
Garth and Gabriel.... Garth doesn't want a relationship. He wants Rowan. Also he wants to break your face on principle. Gabriel's just a nice guy would would get pulverized. ... Probably Garth would do it for fun because it'd be obvious Gabriel couldn't take it.
Both are equally disastrous. Though if I had to pick, at least Luka and Dawn have a chance of making it to couple stage.
3. Your team is 3, 4 & 9. The mission consists of a social challenge, a mental challenge and a physical challenge. Which team member do you assign to each challenge?
I give the social challenge to Ryile because he is one hell of a charmer. He was raised from birth to understand people so he could get them to like him, agree with him, and otherwise adore him. It comes with being the heir to a kingdom. Thank god he doesn't abuse that skill. ... Much.
I give the physical challenge to Tam because out of the three he's the only who keeps in shape. Also, you'd be surprised what feats of physical prowess you can achieve when you've got something to prove and you're determined. Tam is both of those things in spades. Also it's a MAN CHALLENGE. Tam cannot refuse MAN CHALLENGES. (A trait he and I share in common... )
I give the mental challenge to Gabriel because... he's not brilliant, but he's not stupid either. And I guess when you've been dating somebody like Dawn for as long as he's been, you either get sharp quick or something unfortunate happens to you.
4. 7 becomes 1's boss for a week in some plausible fashion. How's their working relationship?
Well... I imagine Luka doesn't like it but he sucks it up and deals. He doesn't like taking orders from anybody, but Iarris is the scariest taskmaster you will ever meet. Also Iarris is calm, collected, and calculating. You can always expect his orders to be logical ones that will produce results, barring something freakish. Luka can respect that. ... Just not longer than a week.
5. 2 finds him/her/itself inserted into 6's continuity. As far as anyone other than 2 or 6 is concerned, they've always been there. What role would 2 be presumed to have had in 6's story, and could they fit in without going wonky?
Orion would end up being the law enforcer who tried to take on Eadres for sodomy and incest (imagine this is 1800s high society, which it is). Eadres would 1. kill him in cold blood with the help of his brother Cailean and hide the evidence with frightening precision 2. have a mental breakdown and never ever leave his room ever again. Probably he would spend the rest of his life doing repetitive tasks to stay calm.
6. 3 and 5 get three wishes. The catch is that they have to agree on all three wishes before they get the benefits of any of them. What three wishes would they make?
Well then... it's tough because Garth doesn't really want anything other than his brother, which he already has, but he'd be more than happy to thwart anything Ryile wanted. I think Ryile would be able to convince him the untimely death of his own brother would be a good idea though, if only because Roma betrayed Ryile, but Ryile would have to spin the story right. I think they'd trade on the last two wishes. Garth would get control over the drug trade coming in through Faerie (so he and Rowan no longer need money and Rowan can stop messing with that voodoo magic bullshit, duh) and Ryile would get an endless supply of cherry pie. No wait, naked Iarris at all time. No wait cherry pie. No wait-
7. 1 and 2 are brainwashed by a one-time artifact that works even on people immune to mind control to attack and kill 4. They keep their normal personality, skills and competence level, except any Code vs. Killing has been turned off. Can 4 survive? How?
... Hahaha Tam is fucked. Luka is fucking magical, and Orion can break every bone in his body in under ten minutes. Maybe Tam could permanently go back to living as a woman to throw them off his trail, but I think he'd rather they just offed him.
8. 6, 7, 9 & 10 must help an orphanage full of small and depressed children have a merry Christmas. Who does what, knowing that at the very least the kids will be expecting a visit from Santa?
Gabriel would probably be Santa because he's just a Nice Guy. Eadres would back it financially (food, presents, decorations, so on and so forth) but not actually show up because OH GOD SMALL CHILDREN GERMS MUST SHOWER FIFTEEN TIMES. Iarris would... um... I guess he could show up and tell the little boys war stories. And let them ride his horse or something. Elieva would bring a troupe of beautiful dancing women, which I'm sure she would enjoy much more than the children would. Probably, she would make a big public spectacle out of it so everybody knows how Kind and Charitable she is (the helping children, not the dancing women). Iarris would be be hiding his face in horror at how shameless his mother is.
9. 3 and 8 are challenged to circumnavigate the Earth in eighty days or less, using only forms of transportation invented before 1900. Can they do it, or will they be fatally distracted by sidequests or their own personality conflicts?
They're both sort of pampered pets. I think Ryile would complain the whole way, and Dawn would fail to see the point of such an excursion. Dawn would keep on trying to sink his horrible like claws into Ryile's brain to mindfuck him and Ryile would have none of it because he's had more than enough mindfuck for one lifetime. They would probably go horribly off course and crash on some uninhabited island where Dawn would eventually eat Ryile to stay alive.
10. 10 and 9 go into business together. what is their business and how is it run?
It would definitely be some sort of lucrative trade business (in Elieva's world where things like the East India Trading Company analogies exist). Elieva would do all the financial backing and subtle political machinations while Gabriel would crunch numbers and make actual trade decisions because he has a head for that sort of thing.

Date: 2009-07-19 06:37 am (UTC)I was thinking the same general set up for #5 too, since Orion is so zealous that the job actually fits him quite well. And as for Eadres all I can say is: Sodomy, incest, and murder oh my.
I also think no matter which way Ryile chooses for their third wish he'd be in deep trouble with Iarris. Trouble that no amount of cherry pie can get him out of despite what Ryile may think.
I have one more challenge question:
Who would win in a war of business corporations: A company headed by Dawn and Orion or a company headed by Elieva and Luka?

Date: 2009-07-19 06:43 am (UTC)Elieva and Luka would win because it takes brains and slyness to run a major business. Dawn has that, but Orion is way too heavy handed. He's good at extortion, but that's more useful in a subordinate. ... Funnily enough Dawn's job in his world IS extortion for a major business.
Anyway, Luka and Elieva would make an excellent team. Dawn and Orion would hate each other.
Ask me another!

Date: 2009-07-19 06:45 am (UTC)MAN CHALLENGE.

Date: 2009-07-19 06:55 am (UTC)Eadres can't marry any of them except for Elieva because they're all men. Sadly, none of our worlds are enlightened enough to allow gay marriage.
NO WAIT. ELIEVA WOULD MARRY EADRES. IT'S PERFECT. Elieva would have money and some limited amount of power she would be more than happy to build up, while her husband would be a total pushover whom she could easily get rid of for days a time by putting all the books in his library out of order. Eadres would put off all the strange rumors about himself by marrying a woman and could go off and do all manner of illicit things with his twin. And since Eadres isn't interested in Elieva that way, she can invite ladies to her chambers all she likes. Everybody wins!
She is quite a bit older though... how scandalous.

Date: 2009-07-19 06:59 am (UTC)As for Elieva being older... well, everyone knows age is second to beauty...which is second to good blood and influence and a hearty dowry >>
